Whānau/Family Support
A non-judgmental service providing families & individuals with support and information.
We support you in parenting, family violence, crisis intervention advocacy, self-confidence, and other ways to develop your strengths. We can also help you in dealing with Government Agencies and can see you at our premises or visit you in your own home.
Whānau/Family Support - Our Aim
To strive towards a positive outcome that works for you
How will we get there?
First off, we get to know each other and decide how we may be able to help. Then we will work alongside you while you build up your skills and self-confidence.
Our Whānau/Family Support team
Our Family Support Advisors are part of a team, with counsellors, budgeters and caring volunteers.

The Family Support team are professionals interested in assisting family/whanau to achieve their goals in several areas, including the Strengthening Families process. Our whanau oriented team are approachable and well known in dual roles throughout the local community with involvement in various cultural, educational, employment, sporting groups and organisations.
We treat everyone of all cultures with respect and confidentiality, whether you have lived here for generations, or are a new arrival — and we know how to ’keep it zipped’ about other people’s business!
We bring a ‘social conscience’ that will make a positive contribution to Te Awamutu. We cannot always help fix the problem, but we will endeavour to connect you with someone who can assist and support you.
The team also offer
